— From the school division:Â All Manassas City Public Schools will be closed. Code Blue for employees. There will be no after school activities.
Manassas Park
— From the school division:Â All Manassas Park City Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 due to the inclement weather that is expected. CODE RED for Employees.

Northern Virginia Community College
NOVA day and evening classes and activities are canceled Tues., Jan. 21 due to inclement weather. All campuses and administrative offices are closed.
George Mason UniversityÂ
Today, January 21, 2014, George Mason University administrative offices are open and classes are in session until 11:30 a.m. due to inclement weather. Classes starting at 10:30 a.m. will be held. Mason shuttles will operate until 12:30 p.m. University events may be postponed or cancelled. Please check with the event coordinator or event website for more information.
University of Mary Washington
Due to adverse weather conditions on Tuesday, January 21, the University will be closed on the Fredericksburg, Stafford and Dahlgren campuses. Classes are canceled and administrative offices are closed. All activities on all campuses have been canceled.

Federal Government
FEDERAL OFFICES in the Washington, DC, area are CLOSED. Emergency and telework-ready employees required to work must follow their agency’s policies, including written telework agreements.
Non-emergency employees (including employees on pre-approved paid leave) will be granted excused absence (administrative leave) for the number of hours they were scheduled to work unless they are:
required to telework,
on official travel outside of the Washington, DC, area,
on leave without pay, or
on an alternative work schedule (AWS) day off.
Telework-Ready Employees who are scheduled to perform telework on the effective day of the announcement or who are required to perform telework on a day when Federal offices are closed must telework the entire workday or request leave, or a combination of both, in accordance with their agency’s policies and procedures, subject to any applicable collective bargaining requirements.
Emergency Employees are expected to report to their worksite unless otherwise directed by their agencies.

PRTC OmniRide, OmniLink
For Tuesday, January 21, PRTC’s Snow Emergency Service Plan is in effect for OmniLink local buses with regular routing (NO SNOW ROUTING). Rides on OmniLink local buses are FREE.
*OMNILINK OFF-ROUTE TRIPS ARE CANCELLED FOR TODAY. OmniLink buses will stop at all signed PRTC bus stops.
*CROSS COUNTY CONNECTOR buses will operate according to published schedules. However, road conditions may cause delays. Rides on Cross County Connector buses are FREE.
*OMNIRIDE AND METRO DIRECT ARE OPERATING REGULAR SERVICE TODAY. However, road conditions may cause delays. Passengers using OmniRide or Metro Direct will be required to pay the regular fares.
PRTC will continue to monitor weather and road conditions.
Based on current forecasts, there is a strong possibility that ESP may be activated for afternoon OmniRide and Metro Direct buses. That decision will be communicated around 11 a.m. and any additional updates will be sent as needed.
Virginia Railway Express — Updated
Operate an “S” Schedule today, January 21, 2014. Only trains with an “S” above its train number on the schedule will operate.
Metro Bus, Metro RailÂ
Metrobus service expected to start on regular schedule, but strong possibility of delays, detours — even possible suspension of service if conditions are extreme. Metro will give at least 3 hours notice prior to suspending service. Riders are strongly encouraged to sign up for MetroAlerts (wmata.com/metroalerts) to stay informed about their bus route.
Metrorail will start the day on a normal schedule. Train frequency may be reduced during the storm due to expected lower ridership and weather conditions. Riders should check wmata.com or sign up for MetroAlerts for the latest information.
