WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Residents are expected to gather Saturday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Civil Rights Act.
The Prince William County Human Rights Commission will celebrate “Universal Human Rights Day” at a special breakfast on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the McCoart Government Building in Woodbridge at 9 a.m.

State Senator Henry Marsh has been invited to bring the keynote address. U.S. Congressman Gerry Connelly will briefly talk about his Civil Rights Project for the Northern Virginia region and Jeff Goldberg, the Virginia Bureau Chief for ABC7/WJLA-TV and News Channel 8, focusing on news across the Northern Virginia region, will serve as the Master of Ceremony for the program.
Also on Saturday, the commission will award the winners of its 2014 Human Rights Award. The recipients are:
