WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Police in Woodbridge are still working to determine the cause of a crash that killed a man from Florida.

Crash – Fatality – On January 9th, the driver of the 2013 Nissan Sentra involved in the serious crash which occurred in the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Mt. Pleasant Drive in Woodbridge on January 7th died at an area hospital. Investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit are still working to determine the cause of the crash. The investigation continues.

The driver of the 2013 Nissan Sentra was identified as Alan Jay BERNSTEIN, 63 of Sanford, FL
The driver of the 1998 Honda Accord was identified as a 23 year old man of Woodbridge
Serious Crash [Previously Released] – On January 7th at 6:49PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Mt. Pleasant Drive in Woodbridge (22191) for a crash. The investigation revealed the driver of a 2013 Nissan Sentra was southbound on Jefferson Davis Highway at the intersection of Mt. Pleasant Drive in the left turn lane. The driver turned into the travel path of a 1998 Honda Accord travelling northbound on Jefferson Davis Highway. The driver of the Honda Accord was not able to avoid a collision and struck the Nissan Sentra on passenger’s side of the vehicle. The driver of the Nissan Sentra was ground transported to an area hospital. The driver of the Honda Accord sustained minor injuries. Investigation continues.
