Girl, 17, Charged in Bicyclist’s Death, Texting Not a Factor

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A 17-year-old is charged in the death of a pedestrian killed while riding his bike in front of C.D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge.

Crash – Fatality *CHARGE FILED – On November 15th, after an extensive investigation, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit obtained a charge against the driver in reference to the fatal pedestrian crash which occurred in the 14000 block of Spriggs Rd in Woodbridge on September 6th. The investigation revealed that texting was not a factor that lead to this crash.

Prince William police regularly do not release the names of minors who are charged with crimes.

The victim in this case, 66-year-old James Callahan, was riding his bike along Spriggs Road about 4 p.m. Friday Sept. 6 when he was struck and killed.
