Woman Found Beaten, Raped and Robbed

WOODBRIDGE,Va.– Police report. woman was beaten, raped an robbed.

On October 22nd at 9:15AM, detectives from the Special Victims Bureau responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence in the 5000 block of Linfield Dr in Woodbridge (22193).

The investigation revealed that the victim, a 27 year old woman of Woodbridge, was visiting the accused, a known acquaintance, at his residence in the above area. Shortly before 4:00AM, the victim was outside when the accused confronted her.

During the encounter, the accused demanded the victim’s wallet and took her cell phone while striking her repeatedly. The assault caused the victim to go in and out of consciousness.

The accused then dragged the victim back into the residence where he continued to assault her physically and sexually. The victim eventually lost consciousness and when she awoke, the accused was asleep allowing her to leave the residence.

A passerby observed the victim and called police. The victim sustained significant injuries to her face and body and was transported to an area hospital. The accused was at the residence when officers arrived. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Arrested on October 22nd:

Marcell Andre HALEY, 28, of 5001 Linfield Dr in Woodbridge

Charged with 2 counts of rape, 1 count of aggravated malicious wounding, 2 counts of strangulation, 1 count of forcible sodomy, 1 count of attempted forcible sodomy, 1 count of abduction with intent to defile, 1 count of aggravated sexual battery, and 1 count of robbery.
