Portion of I-95 South Closing for Steel Work

101613-closure-mapQUANTICO, Va. — Drivers should expect another closure of a portion Interstate 95 south this weekend near Quantico Marine Corps Base.

More in a press release:

Weather permitting, this Friday night, October 18 and Saturday night, October 19 starting at 9:30 p.m., the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin to close lanes on I-95 south just before Marine Corps Base Quantico (MCBQ) Russell Road, Exit 143 to Garrisonville Road, Exit 148, Route 610 progressing to a full closure of I-95 south from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m., Saturday and Sunday mornings.

This closure will allow crews to safely lift steel beams for a new bridge that will carry traffic from the future 95 Express Lanes located in the median to the right side of I-95 south, just north of the Garrisonville Road (Route 610) exit.

A detour will be in place overnight once all lanes close:

All I-95 southbound traffic will be directed to Exit 148, MCBQ, Russell Road east to U.S. Route 1 south to Garrisonville Road (Route 610) and back to I-95 south. One lane on U.S. Route 1 south will also be closed prior to Russell Road to accommodate detour traffic.

Motorists may experience up to 20 minutes additional travel time as crews set-up the lane closures and detour route.

All lanes will be restored by 9 a.m. Saturday morning, October 19, and 10 a.m. Sunday morning, October 20.

Motorists should expect continued nightly lane closures, Mondays through Saturdays.

Rain date: Sunday night October 20, into Monday morning October 21.

Inspired by local physicians who were among the nation’s first to adopt the concierge medicine model, Northern Virginia is now a hub for its surging popularity. These leading physicians are redefining the patient experience with same-day appointments, direct availability, unhurried visits, and deeply personalized care:

After almost 40 years in practice, Manassas-based Internist John Cary, MD’s change to concierge medicine enabled focused attention for each individual, and the launch of his innovative diet program for those with type 2 diabetes. “The goal is to promote enough weight loss to reach an acceptable A1C of 6% with no medication,” he explains. “Achieving that can take several months of very close follow up. As I tell my patients, we are in this together.”

Jay Tyroler, MD considers his patients quite literally as family. “I believe there’s nothing more honorable than helping patients when they’re sick, or scared, or feeling vulnerable, and I care for them exactly as I would my loved ones.” Whether for a specialist referral, urgent health issue or ongoing follow up, “My patients know I’m always just a phone call away.”
