WOODBRIDGE,Va.– Police arrest and charge a Maryland man for robbery and credit card fraud.

Armed Robbery –
On September 12th at 7:09AM, police responded to Featherstone Plz located at 14621 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery.
The victim, a 20 year man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was asleep inside a vehicle parked in the area above when he awoke to an unknown man trying to steal his mother’s purse.
The man had opened the car door and was reaching into the backseat when the victim awoke. When the man observed the victim was awake, he threatened the victim, implying that he had a weapon.
The man took the purse and fled the area in a vehicle. The victim followed the suspect to the area of Walnut St then contacted police.
Trash collectors located the stolen purse in the area of Cottonwood Ct and called police.
Officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle in the area of Ironwood St where the suspect was located and identified as the accused. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
The investigation revealed that following the robbery, the accused used a credit card from the stolen purse in order to withdraw an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from an area ATM.
