Anne Keziah Sanford, age 77, of, Nokesville, died Friday, August 9, 2013, at Prince William Hospital while surrounded by her family.
Born November 17, 1935, in the Goose Creek township of Union County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William Buren Keziah and Lucile Hunt Keziah. Anne was a homemaker and former member of the Nokesville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, holding the offices of both Rescue Captain and Ladies’ Auxiliary President.
Surviving is her husband of 56 years, James Gilbert Sanford, Sr., and children, Vicki Young and her husband, Albert, of Sugar Hill, GA, Jim Sanford and his wife, Jeannie, of Catlett, VA, and Larry Sanford of Midland, VA. Survivors also include five grandchildren and four great-granddaughters.
Anne was the last surviving member of her immediate family, preceded in death by one brother.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA 20110. Services are at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, in the funeral home chapel and will be officiated by Pastor H. E. Schaidt.
Burial will be in the Catlett Methodist Cemetery followed by a meal and time of fellowship at Nokesville Fire and Rescue Station 5, 12826 Marsteller Drive, Nokesville, VA 20181.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nokesville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, 12826 Marsteller Drive, Nokesville, VA 20181.
