Argument in 7-Eleven Parking Lot Ends with Multiple Charges

DUMFRIES Va, — An argument in a 7-Eleven parking lot ended with charges for a 29-year-old Dumfries man.

Larceny | Felony Eluding – On August 14th at 10:15PM, a Prince William County police officer was driving in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and River Heritage Blvd in Dumfries (22026) when he witnessed an argument in the parking lot of the 7-11.

The officer observed one of the parties leave the parking lot and proceed on Jefferson Davis Hwy where the officer attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver, identified as the accused, ignored the officer’s emergency equipment and continued southbound on Jefferson Davis Hwy to I-95.

Officers further determined that the accused was suspected in a larceny of several cigarette cartons and of brandishing a firearm from the 7-11. The vehicle was later found on the side of the interstate unoccupied.

A police K-9 and helicopter were used to search for the suspect. A search of the vehicle resulted in suspected cocaine being recovered.

Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants the suspect. The accused was later located and arrested without further incident in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and American Eagle Dr. The accused was further connected to other larcenies involving cigarettes at the Food Lion located at 17120 Jefferson Davis Hwy and at the CVS located at 16712 Jefferson Davis Hwy which occurred earlier in the evening.

Carlos Alberto BENSUSAN, 29, of 17695 Washington St #20 in Dumfries

Charged with 1 count grand larceny, 2 counts of petit larceny, 1 count of possession of a schedule I/II narcotic, 1 count of felony eluding, and 1 count of brandishing a firearm
