PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Â Prince William Trails and Streams Coaliton (pwtsc.org) recently hosted an inaugural Tour of the Towns — Tour of Prince William Century Ride.Â
The tour was offered to bicyclists in 27, 35 or 100 mile increments and featured lots of beautiful PWC countryside, including four incorporated towns and two independent cities, as well as Quantico Marine Corps Base.
Organizers from PWTSC created the route, maps and provided cue sheets. Riders received t-shirts designed especially for this inaugural event. Support vehicles followed the riders to provide emergency care, bike parts, food or water and tried to anticipate everything possible a rider might need. More than 100 bicyclists participated and ranged in age from 28 to 72.
The weather was perfect with a great breeze all day.
