Woodbridge Teen a TV Dance Hopeful

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Nico Greetham will find out Tuesday if he’ll be one of the top 20 contestants on TV’s “So You Think You Can Dance.”

He’s made the show’s list of the top 33 contestants so far, and as more contestants get eliminated from the contest, his friends and family back in Woodbridge will be watching and rooting for him.

The 18-year-old grew up in Woodbridge in Prince William County, went to Osbourn Park High School in Manassas Park, and has never been shy when it comes to performing in front of others.

“It has always been Nico’s dream to be on TV and in movies… he has wanted to be on the show since it [debuted] but had to wait until he was 18,” stated Isabella Grantham, Nico’s mother in an email. “We have all been ecstatic for him. He has earned everything he is doing at this moment fulfilling his dreams.”

Like its singing counterpart American Idol, the show airs locally on Channel 5 at 8 p.m. Tuesday. It has three judges, and the audience will have a chance to vote for their favorite dancers.

Isabella hopes they choose her son.

“At the area schools he has become quite the celebrity, from what the kids tell me. It’s funny. We are all on pins and needles waiting to find out if he made top 20 on tomorrow’s show,” she stated. “If he does, then everyone needs to tune in and vote!”
