Prince William County Public Schools – Open 2 hours late

Today, Monday, January 28 all Prince William County Public Schools will open two hours late due to inclement weather in certain areas. SACC program will open 2 hours late. Check back for other schedule changes.

All High Schools will dismiss at the normal time today

• Originally scheduled Friday exams are moved to Tuesday.

• All Schools will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 30 for teacher workdays.

• Elementary Schools will have a half day Thursday, Jan. 31 for Teacher Conferences.

Rain and sleet should move into the area sometime after 3 a.m., the National Weather Service states.

The wintry precipitation headed our way has prompted a winter weather advisory for Fairfax, Prince William, Manassas, Manassas, Park, Stafford, and the Fredericksburg area between 3 and 10 a.m. Monday.

Freezing rain should mix with sleet during the morning rush hour, and temperatures should rise above freezing after 10 a.m., the weather service states.

Expect icy, and slippery conditions on roads and sidewalks for your morning commute.

The Federal Government told employees to stay off roads until 10 a.m. Federal offices will open to the public at noon, according to an Office of Personnel Management statement.

Right now, schools in Prince William County are slated to open on time Monday. There have been changes to the school system’s exam schedule due to last week’s winter weather:

Whatever wintry precipitation does fall should clear out of the area by 1 p.m., according to the weather service.
