MANASSAS, Va. — The following is the latest police incident report for Manassas:
Convenience Store Robbed
The Manassas City Police Department is investigating the robbery of the âWellington Marketâ at 9911 Wellington Road. The robbery occurred at approximately 5:31PM on Tuesday, January 1, when a man wearing a mask and brandishing a kitchen knife entered the store through the front and proceeded to take money from the cash register. He quickly exited and fled behind the business toward Sandalwood Drive. According to a witness, he then got into a parked, dark colored, Honda CRV and left the area. The witness was not able to copy a plate number. Witnesses described the suspect as a black male, between 5â11â and 6â2â tall, weighing between 170 and 200 pounds, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black gloves and black pants. The witnesses also stated that his hood was up and his face was covered. He did not make any statements and was only in the store for approximately 18 seconds. This robbery is similar in method and suspect description to two previous robberies at the Wellington Market on October 20th and 23rd, 2012.

Larceny from Auto
The Manassas City Police Department is investigating the larceny of items from vehicles parked on the 9600 block of Autumn Place. Residents reported that during the night of December 29/30, an unknown suspect went through five unlocked cars and opened glove boxes and center consoles. Only a small amount of change and a flash drive were reported missing.
Larceny from Back Yard
The Manassas City Police Department is investigating the larceny of items from the fenced back yard of a residence on the 9000 block of Portner Avenue. A resident reported that the larceny occurred sometime between the evening of Friday, December 28 and the morning of Sunday, December 30. The gate to the back yard was unlocked and nobody was home during the weekend. A ladder, tools, and hoses were reported missing.
Stolen/Recovered Auto
The Manassas City Police Department is investigating the theft of a car from the 9200 block of Portner Avenue on Sunday, December 30, between 6:15AM and 6:29PM. The owner had left it unlocked with the keys in the glove box at 6:15AM. The car was discovered abandoned in a yard on the 8700 block of Jackson Avenue at 6:29PM, prior to the owner reporting it as stolen.
Residential Burglary
The Manassas City Police Department is investigating the burglary of a residence on the 9000 block of Sudley Road. A resident reported to police that the burglary occurred while he was out of town between the afternoon of Friday, December 28 and the morning of Sunday, December 30. There was no evidence of forced entry into the home. A pistol was reported missing.
