New Appointed Woodbridge School Board Member Expected Tonight

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Tonight is the night Woodbridge will have a new representative on the Prince William County School Board.

The eight-member governing body is expected to appoint a new member from a field of interested candidates who spoke last month. The appointee will serve in the position until an election is held – either this spring or later in fall – where voters will decide who will take the job permanently.

Former Woodbridge District School Board Representative Denita Ramirez resigned her position the day after the General Election in November.

Also on the agenda tonight, the School Board is expected to approve a $1.8 million request to increase the organization’s budget. The increase comes after the school division took in monies from grants and donations.

The request will then go to the Prince William County Board of Supervisors for approval.
