A transmission line that belongs to Dominion Virginia Power went dead casing a power outage that affected 15,000 customers tonight, according to NOVEC.
The utility reports a line that is maintained by Dominion went dark and that cut off power to seven of NOVEC substations located in theVa.234 corridor. Those stations serve customers in portions of Prince William,Stafford, and Fauquier counties.
Dominion Virginia Power said they have restored power to their affected transmission line, but area still investigating  what caused the outage.
We are doing everything we can on our end to try and get power from different substations to other substations that are out,” said NOVEC spokeswoman Priscilla Knight.
NOVEC called in repair crews to restore service to affected areas.
Some areas have seen power restored, while other customers have been provided estimated restoration times of about 1 a.m. Tuesday.Â

NOVEC reports 15,000 were affected by the power outage that hit portions of Fauquier, Stafford, and Prince William counties.

Initial reports indicate power is back on in other places as well.

Dominion Virginia Power states all of their customers have power tonight.
Utility spokeswoman Le Ha Ansderson said NOVEC, not Dominion Virginia Power, customers are affected.
The NOVEC website has apparently become overrun by those wanting information about the utility and the outage, as several attempts to load NOVEC’s website have failed.Â

When a portion of Dale City, Prince William County, and Stafford went dark, social media lit up.
Calls to PotomacLocal.com and posts to social media indicate a large power outage in portions of Prince William County.
We’re working to bring you more information on the outage.
According to PotomacLocal.com readers, power in areas from Stafford County to Manassas is out. NOVEC is the electricity provider to homes in these areas.
We have yet to hear back from NOVEC to confirm a power outage, or if there is an estimated time power will be restored.

Public safety officials recently gathered at Dunkin’ Donuts locations from Stafford County to Manassas to meet with community members in two separate events fostering engagement and conversation.
In Stafford County, Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins celebrated the grand reopening of their Next Generation restaurant on Warrenton Road with a unique community event on Saturday, February 8. Customers enjoyed free medium hot or iced coffee while participating in fun activities, including a prize wheel, face painting, and a visit from Dunkin’s mascot, Cuppy. Brown-Page, a retired federal senior manager and mediation expert, brings extensive experience in human and community relations. Her appointment follows the censure of Stafford Supervisor Monica Gary, accused of political maneuvering in Becelia’s removal.
