Potomac Nationals Make Holland Head Broadcaster

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A Maryland man with years of experience in Minor League Baseball will take microphone inside the broadcast booth at Potomac Nationals games this spring.

The Woodbridge ball club announced Bryan Holland will serve as play-by-play announcer and  media relations director for the team in the upcoming 2013 season. The promotion comes after Holland worked in the team’s sales department.

More in a press release from the team:

A product of Elon University (Elon, NC), Holland served the P-Nats in group ticket, picnic hospitality, and corporate sponsorship sales during the 2012 season after spending four previous campaigns in Minor League Baseball.

“I am incredibly honored to become the raconteur for P-Nats Baseball. When I think of all the great broadcasters who have served this post, being behind the microphone for the Potomac Nationals will be a truly fulfilling opportunity. I can’t wait for the 2013 season to be unveiled to our terrific fan base,” said Holland.

The Elkridge, MD native was a part of the broadcast team for the 2007 Carolina League Champion, Frederick Keys (Class-A Advanced, Baltimore Orioles) before joining Ripken Baseball’s Aberdeen IronBirds (Short-season A, Baltimore Orioles) as a fill-in radio broadcaster and group sales representative for the 2008 season.

This season will be Holland’s fourth with the team. The Potomac Nationals games are broadcast live on the team’s website.
