Dominion Virginia Power tells us a power outage in the Montclair area was planned.
Karl Neddenien said about 600 customers in the area will be without power until 4 p.m. as crews work to replace an electric switch that will work to keep the power system reliable
Neddenien said a notice warning them of the replacement was mailed out earlier this month to customers that were going to be affected by this outage.
1:30 p.m.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — The electricity is out at Henderson Elementary School in Montclair.
Prince William County Public Schools spokeswoman Irene Cromer said the outage is part of a larger power problem in the surrounding neighborhood.
The school building remains open and students are being fed lunch on a normal schedule. Phones also continue to work inside the building.
