DUMFRIES, Va. — A Dumfries police officer was taken to a hospital, treated, and released Friday after she was involved in a crash.
It happened on Fraley Boulevard (U.S. 1) at 6:30 p.m., just south of Graham Park Road. Another driver rear-ended the police officer, said Dumfries police Chief Robert Forker.
Prince William police are investigating the crash and that agency has yet to release details about the incident.
Forker said the driver of the car that collided with the police cruiser also complained of minor injuries, but he was unclear if the driver was treated.
If charges are filed in the crash, Prince William police will be the arresting agency, said Forker.
No other details were released about the incident.Â
