Police Detail Arrest in Wednesday Shooting

UPDATE 12:40 p.m. Wednesday

Arrested on October 24th:

Frederick SANTIAGO, 23, of 13203 Fireside Ct in Woodbridge

Charged with aggravated malicious wounding and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony

Court date set for December 27, 2012, held WITHOUT bond

Vehicle Lookout:

A late model gray Ford pickup truck, extended cab with tinted windows

Damage should be visible to the front left driver’s side of the truck from the hit & run

UPDATE 8:15 a.m. Wednesday

*ARREST MADE IN SHOOTING: Detectives have arrested the man responsible for the shooting which occurred last night in the parking lot of the Marumsco Plz. Police are still investigating the hit and run incident. Details on both incidents and the arrest will be in today’s daily incident report.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — An unidentified male was flown to a hospital after he was shot in the parking lot of Marumsco Plaza in Woodbridge.

Police were called at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and learned the shooting apparently stemmed from a fight that took place between the victim and an acquaintance, according to a statement from Prince William police.

After the victim was shot he was walking along nearby Bayside Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the area afterward, according to police. No details about the vehicle have been released.

Police note they are treating the shooting and the hit and run as two separate incidents. The victim was flown to a hospital for with life-threatening injuries.

“ At this time, there is no public threat as this incident was not random. Detectives are on scene continuing the investigation,” police stated.
