PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. – Police in Prince William County are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Saturday night near Dumfries.
FROM POLICE REPORTS
Crash – Fatality – On September 29th at 11:05PM, police responded to the area of Dumfries Rd and Talon Dr in Dumfries (22025) for a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling southbound on Dumfries Rd in the area above when the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic on northbound Dumfries Rd.
Once in the northbound lanes, the vehicle struck 4 other vehicles, one of which was a 2000 Mercury Marquis. The driver, and only occupant, of the Mercury sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital where he died later that next morning. No other injuries were reported. This investigation is still ongoing and the identity of the deceased driver will be released upon notification of the next of kin.
