NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — A mother of three faces charges after a service technician found her children home alone.
The technician was working in the Sky Terrace neighborhood along Babcock Road in North Stafford, off Onville Road, when he found the three children at 4:45 p.m. A Stafford sheriff’s deputy called to the scene spoke with the children who told him they were hot and wanted to the swimming pool, said sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.
The deputy called child protective services who then attempted unsuccessfully to reach the mother. All three kids were then placed into the temporary care of a foster parent.
The deputy left his card on the door of the house is Sky Terrance, and the mother called about 8 p.m. looking for her children. The deputy went back to speak with the woman, and she told authorities the children were supposed to have been in the care of a neighbor, said Kennedy. The deputy then arrested her.
Tanisha Scott, 29, faces charges of child abuse and child neglect, said Kennedy. She was jailed without bond.
