Comedy Show Sells Out


The comedy show has sold out, according to — the site where customers were asked to go to and purchse advanced tickets for the show.

The sell-out show comes at a time when the Workhouse is seraching to find new ways to fund programs and events at the center.

According to Workhouse Arts Center officials, all construction and rennovation that had been happening in recent months at the center has now ceased.

LORTON, Va. — A comedian with ties to Northern Virginia, and a finalist on TV’s Last Comic Standing, is coming to the Workhouse Arts Center Friday night.

Jeff Maurer will perform at 8 p.m. at the Workhouse off Va. 123 in Lorton. The comic has performed at the Washington, D.C. Improv, and at the now-defunct Wisearces Comedy Club in Tysons Corner, an old favorite haunt for stand-up comic just starting out.

Splitting his time growing up between Oregon, Washington, Kentucky, and Virginia, Maurer now lives in Washington, D.C.

Tickets for the show are $10 in advance online or $12 cash at the door.
