Eatery Donating Wednesday to Children Who Lost Mother

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Community residents are asked to dine out to support five young children who just lost their mother.

Lucinda Tucker Rivera, 42, of Woodbridge, died June 7 from complications from stage-three pancreatic cancer. The 1988 graduate of Gar-Field Senior High School developed an infection that affected her immune system that, in the end, was too large for her to overcome.

Rivera leaves behind three girls and two boys ranging in age from four to 13-years-old.

And that’s where Bob Evans restaurant in Woodbridge comes in. The eatery on Wednesday will donate 15 percent of sales to Rivera’s family, from customers who bring in a printed donation flier. Customers are asked to print out the flier, bring it with them, and then present it to their server after they order food so the donation can be made.

There will also be items that will be auctioned off during this fundraiser, said organizer Sue Pedro Davis.

For those who can’t make it to the restaurant Wednesday and would still like to donate, donations can be mailed to Love by Cupcake/Sue Davis 5917 Fincastle Drive Manassas, Va. 20112.

The children are now in the care of their father, Felipe Rivera.
