Stafford Family Robbed, Bound

NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — Authorities in Stafford County are investigating a bizarre home invasion in the Widewater Village neighborhood.

Sheriff Charles E. Jett said a man, woman, and their 10-month-old child were awaked about 12:30 a.m. Monday to two masked men who had entered their home. One of the men wielded a knife and demanded the family to go into their garage.

While there, the men demanded the family strip naked, and the intruders later took at least one of the residents around the house while they demanded valuables such as cash, computer items, digital cameras, and jewelry, said Jett.

Afterward, the family members were all tied up with rope and tape inside of their garage. The men then threatened the family and told them not to leave the garage, Jett added.

An hour later, the family was able to break their binds and flee to a neighbor’s house where they called 911. No one was injured, said Jett.

The two men were described as black, both wearing sweatshirts, blue jeans, black hats, and had their faces covered with blue bandanas, according to Jett. Both were described to be in their late teens to early 20s.
