Aquatics Program Awarded in Prince William

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — The Prince William County Park Authority’s Aquatics program has been awarded the 2011 Gold International Aquatic Safety Award, from Jeff Ellis & Associates, Inc. The prestigeous award recognizes those member organizations who have exceeded industry standards in risk management and provide its patrons with superior safety service.

The 2011 Gold International Aquatic Safety Award states: “While we are sure that the swimmers who frequent your aquatic facilities already recognize the professionalism exhibited by your lifeguard staff, it is important to inform them that only those clients scoring in the top 30% of the audit criteria received this award. Accordingly, they are consistently being afforded with the highest degree of swimmer protection currently available for the aquatic industry.”

Jeff Ellis & Associates International Aquatic Safety & Risk Management Consultants test each of its Comprehensive Aquatic Risk Management Program members with unannounced safety audits. Auditors analyze individual lifeguards on their knowledge, rescue skills, and test the facility’s emergency action plans with simulated emergencies. The audit includes an analysis of the administrative, supervisory, and facility procedures as well.
