Dumfries, Va. — The Weems-Botts Museum is hosting a free genealogy event to help visitors find their roots.

At the Feb. 21 Dumfries Town Council meeting, Museum Director Joann Barron said that this Saturday’s event will involve learning how to use census records to find details about one’s family history.

The next two genealogy events, called The Missing Connection, will be held Saturdays, Feb. 25 and March 24 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Those interested in attending are advised to call 703-221-2218 and let the museum know.

The Weems-Botts Museum is open during the week on Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. However, it is closed for regular visits and tours until March 1.
