This weekend, we’re thinking some ice might be nice, as two local skating destinations offer special programs.

Junior Speedskating Championships
First up, head to Prince William Ice Center to catch the National Junior Speedskating Championships. Racing will take place starting Friday and goes through Saturday. Admission is free. Winners from this event will represent the U.S. in Australia.

Winter Festival with ice sculptures
Next, the Harris Pavilion in Manassas will host their annual Winter Festival with ice sculptures, ice princess contests, broomball competition at 1 p.m -4pm. The s’mores will be free, but skate rental and skate admission will be $7 for adults, $6 for kids 10 and under, and $3 for rental skates.

IKEA of Woodbridge celebrates 25th anniversary
IKEA of Woodbridge will celebrate the chain’s 25th anniversary with special events from 12-2 each day, including live music from the College of William and Mary, Radio Disney Live, and moon bounces and face painting for the kids. Specials, giveaways, and prizes are also planned.

Barrel Tasting
Feeling a little wine-y this week? We are too with the end of the beautiful weather approaching! Why not indulge that feeling with Hartwood Winery’s annual Barrel Tasting to taste ‘wine before its time’. Sample the wine directly from the barrel and compare it with finished bottled wines. Live music and light hors d’oeuvres will be featured. This event runs from 3:00pm-6:00pm and is $12.00 for adults. Children are welcome, and free.

Dale City Farmer’s Market
Need to do some shopping this weekend? Did you know that the Dale City Farmer’s Market now runs all winter long, too? Drop by during their winter hours from 10am-1pm.

Roller skate 
Are you a Stafford Family looking for something a little more active? Cavalier Family Skate Center has family appreciation days on Sundays, and skating all weekend long. Check out their full schedule at https://www.cavalierfamilyskating.com/
