A man who told police he was robbed in Woodbridge turned out to be lying, police said.
The 34-year-old now charged with filing a false police report told police that two men approached him in Foulgers Square, where a Home Depot and Kohls Department Store are located, assaulted him and took his wallet on Jan. 11.
Police arrested the man Wednesday and filed charges against him.
Thomas Jerome Thurman, 34, of 1413 Bayside Avenue #101 in Woodbridge, was charged in connection to the incident, said Prince William police. His bond or court information was not released.
