Stafford Church Burglaries Could be Related

Stafford County, Va. – Two churches in Stafford County have been burglarized, prompting the sheriff’s department to put out a plea for information on who’s behind the crimes.

The latest burglary occurred between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning at the Ramoth Baptist Church in the 400 block of Ramoth Church Road. An employee of the church came to work Wednesday and noticed a laptop computer lying in the entrance way to her office, then saw the church had been burglarized, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

Four flatscreen TVs, several laptop computers, and a camera were taken from the church. Investigators said a window was kicked open which allowed the intruder access.

This is the second incident this week in Stafford County where a church has been vandalized.

The Stafford Church of Christ in the 500 block of Shelton Shop Road was broken into, door frame damaged, cabinets rifled through, and a large TV, monitor for a camera system, and cash stolen, said Kennedy. The burglar appeared to have entered the church from an unlocked side door.

Investigators are looking into the possibility the two cases are related.

The sheriff’s department has asked anyone with information on these cases to contact Crime Solvers.
