Woodbridge, Va. — It’s that time of year again when Santa and Mrs. Claus come down from the North Pole to ride on Virginia Railway Express.
Tickets to the immensely popular Santa Trains will go on sale at 9 a.m. Monday for $5 each, $6 if purchased on VRE’s website via PayPal. They usually sell out fast.
All of the Santa Trains will run Saturday, Dec. 10. In Woodbridge, the Prancer Express will leave the Woodbridge VRE station at 9:30 a.m. and will return at 10:30 p.m. after a ride up the track. In Fredericksburg, the first of four trains out of the station will be the Dasher Express at 8:30 a.m.
There will also be trains on VRE’s Manassas line. Click here for full schedule and more information on the trains.
VRE’s Santa Trains run to promote awareness about rail safety.
In other VRE news, trains will not run on Thanksgiving but will operate on an “S” schedule on Friday, meaning that only trains listed on the schedule with an S next to it will run. The railroad will resume full service Monday.
