Stafford County, Va. — Animals will be welcomed Sunday to Spotsylvania Towne Centre as the Stafford County SPCA will hold pet photos with Santa.
The event begins at 6 p.m., and along with Santa photos the agency will also have special angel trees with ornaments that can be “adopted” for the charity. All pets must be on a leash or in a pet carrying container, according to Stafford SPCA spokeswoman Sarah Ritchie.
This event is planned after the SPCA last weekend brought animals for adoption to Sears in Stafford Marketplace in North Stafford. During the adoption event, the agency put a focus on adopting older pets like Snowball, an eight-year-old female cat. As for dogs, Ruby, the boxer, was also sent to a foster home until a permanent “forever home” can be found for the animal, said Ritchie.
The SPCA is also planning fundraising event at Chili’s restaurant in North Stafford from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Nov. 29, where the restaurant will donate 20 percent of the day’s sales to the SPCA. Ritchie said supporters must print a flier and bring with them a flier for the event to receive the discount, said Ritchie.
