Second Arrest Made in Shooting Death

Eddie Chewing (Submitted)
Stafford, Va. –– First a 17-year-old female arrested for murder, now investigators say her boyfriend was also in on the crime.

Eddie Chewing, 18, of 167 Mansfield Street in Fredericksburg, is charged with accessory before the fact in first degree murder and with accessory before the fact in the use of a firearm in commission of a felony, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

He was arrested at his home Thursday night without incident and was held with no bond.

His arrest follows that of a 17-year-old female charged in the death of 62-year-old Brenda Dye, who was killed July 5 at her home in south Stafford.

Investigators have not released any information about the female or her relationship with Dye, but did say the female and Chewing were dating each other at the time of Dye’s death.
