Woodbridge, Va. ––
The town hall is scheduled to go on Saturday despite the absence of Del. Richard Anderson.
Anderson, who represents Lake Ridge and a majority of Prince William County for the 51st District, planned to hold a joint town hall meeting with Virginia Senator George Barker (D-36, Fairfax, Prince William) at the Prince William County Government Center in Woodbridge at 10 a.m.
Anderson announced Friday he had an unexpected emergency and will need to return to his hometown of Roanoke.
“[Barker] and I have done several town halls together, which have been productive joint ventures, but I need to be away tomorrow,” Anderson stated in an e-mail to reporters.
Anderson’s legislative assistant, Ryan Galloway plans to stand in for the lawmaker.
The meeting was called to discuss changes to area political districts that took effect this past spring.
