There's been a murder at the National Museum of the Marine Corps –– but that could mean some fun for you this weekend, and so could any of the other 50 events on the PotomacLocal.com Potomac Communities Calendar.
Tonight's "Murder on Maui" will feature tours of the Marine Corps museum beginning at 4 p.m. followed by dinner and a night of mystery for $35. Reservations may be made to 703-649-2365.
If you'd enjoy a little less intrigue, Potomac Point Winery will be hosting musician Pete Baker from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in their courtyard series.
Saturday offers numerous festival options with Celebrate Fairfax, the Occoquan Craft Show, Springfield Days and the Manassas Heritage Festival and Civil War Memorial Weekend.
With a children's stage and interactive booths, our best bet for families is Celebrate Fairfax. At 8:00 on Saturday evening, SpotLYTE will present "W;t" at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, a play about the life-changing effects of cancer on a college professor. Tickets range from $12-$15.
Sunday you can catch day two of any of Saturday's festivals, or head over to George Mason University for a dance benefit for the Japanese Red Cross. Tickets to this event are $40 for the general public or $25 with student identification and performances will be from several traditional Japanese dance troupes.
Enjoy your weekend, and remember you can always submit your events to our calendar by emailing Kristina Schnack Kotlus
