Manassas, Va. –– A broken water pipe at a Manassas senior living complex left 15 homeless this morning.
Fire and rescue crews were called to Liberty Grove in Manassas about 9 a.m., after water pipe burst within one of the building’s fire sprinkler systems.
No one was injured, but at crews on the scene said a “major salvage” operation was underway to save as much property as possible.
The American Red Cross was called in to assist those who had been put out of their homes by the pipe burst, said Manassas fire and rescue spokesman Wade House.
The Liberty Grove Condominiums and Lofts on just off Wellington Road are open to those 55 years or older.
