Robbers Have Taste for Pizza

Stafford, Va. –– It appears two robbers were out for both dough and cash on Saturday.

Stafford sheriff’s authorities say two men at 10:30 p.m. walked into a Dominos Pizza at 2606 Jefferson Davis Highway (U.S. 1) in Stafford, one of them raised a gun, pointed it to the clerk and then demanded money.

The clerk did as he was told and handed over a till of full of cash.

But then one of the men smelled what must have been garlic bread and pizza sauce, and saw a freshly made pie sitting near the cash register.

The robber then decided that the pizza was too good for him to pass up, and demanded the clerk hand it over.

The clerk did, and the two men fled the store in the direction of Coal Landing Road, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

No one was injured in the robbery, and sheriff’s deputies then set up a perimeter around the scene of the crime and used K-9 dogs to try and locate the two men.

Investigators eventually lost track of the two men who got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and a fresh, hot pizza.

Both men are said to be between 5 foot 6 and 5 foot 7 inches tall, both wore hooded sweatshirts and masks.

One was a light-skin black male or possibly Hispanic while the other was said to be black, said Kennedy.

Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact the Stafford County Sheriff’s Department.
