Stafford County, Va. –– A 16-year-old is behind bars tonight after three teenagers were stabbed Tuesday.
The stabbings took place in Stafford County’s Olde Forge neighborhood off U.S. 17 in the southern portion of the county.
About 2 p.m. Tuesday, three teenagers were stabbed with what appeared to be a hunting knife while playing a football game near a playground.
The stabbing suspect fled the scene and the victims drove themselves to a nearby hospital where they were treated and released.
A 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection to the stabbings, and is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.
The teen is charged with three felony counts of malicious wounding and with three felony counts of conspiracy to commit malicious wounding, said Kennedy.
This latest crime against teenagers in Stafford County comes after a party in the county’s Hartwood area with at least 200 teens in attendance was invaded by three members of a home-grown gang, the Goon Squad, police say.
Sheriff’s deputies charged three men after those at the party said someone walking into the house, assaulted teenagers and then fired a gun into the air.
Kennedy says the two incidents are not related.
