Woman Victim of Home Invasion

Woodbridge, Va. –– A woman sitting on her couch in her living room Sunday became the victim of a home invasion.

The 63-year-old was inside her home in the 2000 block of Horizon Court, in the Misty Ridge apartment complex, when she heard her sliding glass door open at 10:05 p.m., and then saw a man come into her home, say police.

The man pulled out a handgun and demanded money, but the woman fought back and struck the man on the head with the gun, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

The man was able to grab the woman’s purse that was sitting on a nearby table and fled the scene.

The victim suffered injuries what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries on her head, and was taken to an area hospital, said Perok.

The intruder is described as black, between 20 and 25-years-old, 6 feet tall, with a thin build. He was seen wearing a black ski mask, dark-colored pants and a long-sleeve shirt.
