Fairfax County, Va. –– Fairfax county police were called to the scene of a grizzly crash in Hybla Valley on Tuesday.
Just after 4:30 p.m., a 2005 Cadillac sedan was traveling south on Harrison Lane at a high rate of speed when the driver came upon a sharp left curve. The road led straight to the entrance of Huntley Meadows Park where is ran off the driveway inside t he park, struck a tree and caught fire with the driver still inside, Fairfax County police say.
Bystanders tried to pull the driver from the car but were unable to. When rescue crews arrived, the unidentified driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the identity of the driver.
Police said alcohol or drugs may be a factor in the crash.
