Vandals Use Eggs, Pull Mailbox Posts

Stafford County, Va. –– Who egged the cars and pulled mailbox posts from the ground?

Deputies in Stafford County were faced with those questions over the weekend.

No ordinary mailbox smashing caper, this person in this case walked up to at least three mailboxes in front of homes along Choptank Road in the Vista Woods neighborhood and pulled the posts from the ground, sometime late Saturday into early Sunday.

The sheriff’s office received call from someone who fell victim to the apparent vandal’s antics, and a deputy was at the home taking a report learned two other nearby posts had also been pulled from the ground, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

Apparently having no use for the posts, this vandal simply threw them in a ditch or back into the neighbor’s front yard.

Also keeping deputies busy Sunday was the mystery of who egged and keyed at least three cars that same overnight on Stafford Glen Court and Greenspring Drive in North Stafford.

One victim told a deputy about the misfortune that befell their automobile, and while filling out a report the deputy at least two other cars had also become victim to a vandal’s disdain for the popular breakfast food, and, unfortunately, were also keyed.

Anyone with information on these incidents is encouraged to call Stafford County Crime Solvers.
