Sheriff’s Office to Hold Community Shred

Stafford, Va. –– Sheriff’s authorities want to help you stay protected from identify theft.

The sheriff’s office will hold a drive-through community shred event from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. April 16, at Stafford County’s public safety complex at 1225 Courthouse Road in Stafford.

For $5 per box, or up to 100 pounds per material per person, residents can drive up the shredding location and then hand over a box full of documents to a volunteer who will shred the papers.

“It really doesn’t get any easier than this. It’s completely drive through and the whole thing is designed to protect county residents,” said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

The money raised from the event will go to benefit Stafford County Crime Solvers.

Documents will be shredded that day rain or shine, said Kennedy.
