Sport and Health Eyes New Location

Sport and Health will build a new facility at Potomac Town Center adding to three other locations it already has in the Potomac Communities.

The new 42,000 square foot gym is expected to open later this year near Wegmans in Woodbridge and is expected to begin selling pre sale memberships this summer.

The new gym will boast 100 pieces of equipment, a pool, a basketball court as well as daycare facilities.

“We are looking for the fitness conscious 25-year-old and older crowd that recognizes the benefit of being healthy,” said Sport and Health spokeswoman Nancy Terry.

The new gym will also be family friendly with a daycare facility for children complete with a maze.

Sport and Health already has to locations in the Woodbridge area – at Devils Reach Road and on Dale Boulevard in Dale City.

In December 2008, the company opened its expanded facility on Garrisonville Road (Va. 610) in North Stafford.

All of those locations will remain open with the addition of the newest gym, as well as a newly planned Sport and Health location in Gainesville, Va., said Terry.

This is the latest company to announce an opening at the developing town center.

Long-time local jeweler Quinn’s Goldsmith recently opened a new store in the shopping center, and national restaurant chains PF Changs and Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill are also planned for the center.
