Alexandria officials: Give us a ramp from HOV to Mark Center
Officials at the newly constructed and yet to open federal building at Alexandria’s Mark Center – the behemoth structure at Interstate 395 and Seminary Road – are pushing for a exit ramp from the High Occupancy Vehicle lanes. The facility will become part of Ft. Belvoir’s military installation once the BRAC relocation of federal and military workers is complete later this year.

Stafford’s new fire fighters will come with strings attached
Stafford County will set out to hire 14 new career fire fighters after they are awarded a 3-year grant from the Department of Homeland Security. But the new fire fighters come with strings attached, as county taxpayers have to fund to the their cost during the third year of the program.

Woodbridge resident indicted in abduction, sexual assault case
A man whose last known address was in Woodbridge has been indicted in West Virginia for the abduction and sexual assault of a woman in Florida. Prosecutors say DNA evidence links 46-year-old Brian K. Ansley to the 2003 abduction of a woman at a Barnes and Noble bookstore. The woman was taken to a secluded place and sexually assaulted, prosecutors say.
