Liquor store moving

Woodbridge, Va. –– You’ll no longer be able to get your choice spirits at Woodbridge plaza starting next week.

The Virginia ABC store located inside shopping plaza at U.S. 1 and Occoquan Road in Woodbridge will close its doors Thursday Feb. 24.

It will reopen at 10 a.m. March 1 in Marumsco Plaza, according to a press release from Virginia’s ABC.

Marumsco Plaza on U.S. 1 for months now has been the site of an ongoing renovation, where the building’s façade has been replaced with newer, more updated looking material.

A new grocery store, Todos Supermarket, is also scheduled to open at the plaza.

The one-time shopping mecca that dates back to the 1960s also lost a tenant during its renovation.

Lorton-based Five Guys Burgers restaurant late last month closed its doors. According to company officials, there is no plan to reopen the store in the renovated shopping center.
