Update 2:55 p.m.
Stafford authorities say they’ve captured a man wanted in Stafford County on child pornography charges.

Michael Neal Michaud was arrested at his home at 32 Arrowhead Drive in the Rock Hill area of Stafford County at 1:52 p.m. Tuesday.

After the sheriff’s department released information this morning about his charges, a neighbor called investigators and said they saw Michaud’s car parked at the house, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

Sheriff’s deputies surrounded the house, saw Michaud standing in the doorway and then told him to get on the ground, said Kennedy.

He was arrested without incident and is now being held in the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Authorities are looking for a man they say had child pornography on his computer.

Stafford sheriff’s deputies with warrants in hand searched a home Monday at 32 Arrowhead Drive, off Garrisonville Road (Va. 610) in the Rock Hill area of Stafford County.

The person at the house they were hoping to find, 50-year-old Michael Michaud, was not home, but investigators were able to reach him by phone, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

Michaud refused to come to the house to speak with detectives and now investigators believe he may be in the Virginia Beach area or in Florida.

Investigators found child pornography on Michaud’s computer Monday, said Kennedy.

Michaud is now charged with three counts of possession of child pornography, said Kennedy.

He may be driving a burnt orange 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier with Virginia license plates XEY-4618.

He is white, 6 feet tall, 168 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Authorities fear he may be armed, and have asked anyone with information on his whereabouts is encouraged to call Stafford County Crime Solvers at 540-658-4400.
