Park on the odd side of the street, please

Mt. Vernon, Va. –– Residents in the Mt. Vernon area should park their cars on of the sides of the streets with odd numbered addresses.

The request from Fairfax County officials comes following the snow that blanketed the region Wednesday night.

Leaving the even-numbered sides free of parked cars will allow snow plows to more easily access areas that need plowed, stated an email from Fairfax County Supervisor Gerry Hyland’s office.

The email also encouraged residents to clear snow from sidewalks, mailboxes and fire hydrants.
