Closings and Delays for Jan. 26

Stafford: The Law Enforcement/Private Property Tow Board meeting scheduled for Thursday January 27 has been canceled due to impending inclement weather.  The meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Public Safety Building located at 1225 Courthouse Road, Stafford, Va. 22554.

The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission has instituted its Emergency Service Plan. All bus rides are free.

Northern Virginia Community College will close at 3 p.m.

Stafford: The public workshop on Urban Development Areas that was scheduled for tonight at Rocky Run Elementary School has been postponed due to impending inclement weather.

Staff is working to reschedule the meeting for early February, but a date has not yet been set.

Virginia Railway Express will operate on a regular schedule during  the afternoon rush hour.

Prince William County Public Schools are closed today, Wednesday Jan. 26 for inclement weather. Code Red for employees.

Fairfax County Public Schools are closed today. Offices are open with unscheduled leave in effect.

Stafford County Public Schools have canceled after school and evening activities are canceled for Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011.  This includes the CGS Information Night and the Meet the Superintendent events.

Stafford  County Public Schools are operating on a two-hour delay. No morning preschool. Afternoon preschool will be delayed one-half hour.

The delay has also affected the school system’s exam schedule:

At the middle and high school levels only, the exams will be administered as scheduled.

The school day will be extended appropriately, and a 15-25 minute break will be scheduled in-between exams periods and bag lunches will be provided.

The following are the start and end times for the middle and high schools:

Middle School:            10:20 am – 2:20pm

High School:                9:40 am – 1:45 pm

The Fredericksburg Nationals (FredNats), in collaboration with the Fredericksburg Area Museum, Germanna Community College, and Dovetail Cultural Resource Group/Mead & Hunt, have unveiled a new alternate uniform identity for select games in the 2025 season.
