Victim carjacked in Dale City

Dale City, Va. –– A carjacking and an armed robbery kept police in Dale City busy over the weekend.

Police on Sunday were called to the 3200 block of Birchdale Square after a man told police he had just been carjacked.

The 21-year-old victim was in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 14300 block of Potomac Mills Road at 1:50 a.m. Sunday when a man and woman walked up to him and asked him to give them a ride to the nearby Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission’s bus terminal, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

He agreed and drove them there, but once they arrived, the two asked the victim to take them to address on Birchdale Square.

The driver complied once more, and when they arrived at the address, the two threatened him, took his cell phone and told him to get out of the car, said Perok.

The man did, and the two made off with his car.

The victim was able to flag down a passing car and then called police.

He described the man and woman as black, between 17 and 18-years-old, wearing black zip-up hooded sweatshirts.

Another man was robbed in the 14500 block of Fullerton Road in Dale City at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, as he was trying to deliver a pizza to an address there.

The victim, who worked for Papa John’s Pizza, told police three men approached him, one of which began assaulting him, while the other two demanded money, said Perok.

The victim gave them the cash that he had and the three men left the scene.

Rescue crews were called to the scene to examine the victim.

The victim told police three black males, between the ages of 19 and 30, attacked him.

The first was wearing a black fleece jacket and a dark-colored baseball cap.

The next was wearing an orange, white and blue stripped shirt.

The victim was unable to provide police a solid description for the third male.

The City also reminds property owners and occupants of their obligation to clear sidewalks adjacent to their properties. Snow and ice must be removed within 12 hours after snowfall ends, or by noon the following day if precipitation occurs overnight or on a Sunday. Sand or abrasives may be used if removal isn’t feasible. Residents and businesses are also responsible for clearing ADA access ramps to ensure safe pedestrian passage.
