Crash kills motorcyclist

Fairfax County, Va. –– A motorcyclist was killed Sunday when he collided with a SUV on Edsall Road, police said.

Samuel Posey, 31, was driving his GSX 100 motorcycle east on Edsall Road when he collided with a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo, driven by a 48-year-old woman.

The woman had stopped at the corner of Dublin Avenue, and then made a left turn onto Edsall Road, said a Fairfax County police spokesman.

Posey’s motorcycle crossed the path of the turning vehicle at 4:43 p.m., and afterward he was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries at 5:25 p.m., said police.

Investigators have not filed charges in the crash, and they say alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

The crash remains under investigation.
