Residents in the Potomac communities are waking up this morning to several weather watches and warnings.
A flash flood warning was issued for the area at 5 a.m., after heavy rains had fallen on the area for the previous three hours, according the National Weather Service.
It will expire at 10:45 a.m., but the area is also under a tornado watch that will expire at 1 p.m.
All of this comes as the remnants of Tropical Storm Nicole are making its way up the east coast.
